RJ #23

Dear Mrs. Zrihen,

I currently finished : Justin Bieber: First steps 2 forever: My story. BY: Justin Bieber. I got this book because I don't like Justin Bieber, but,i never had a reason to dislike him. So I wanted to read this book to see if I could actually have a reason to dislike him or become a fan. Neither happened.

I used six strategies while reading two before, after, and during.

Two before:

  1. I skimmed and scanned for text features (pictures, captions, footnotes, bold words) pictures give a little insight of the topic. Captions/ Footnotes help by letting you know what's going on or what something means. Bold words let you know a new topic is starting.
  2. I did a little research on Justin Bieber.

Two during:

  1. I summarized what I read
  2. I studied all the pictures

Two after:

  1. I discussed it with my mom.
  2. I discussed it with my friends Rebecca.

Justin Bieber's book is not very organized. Chapter 1 should be the prologue ( there is none), chapter 2 should be #5. Chapter 6 should be #3. He needs more experience in writhing. I found out a lot of things about Justin Bieber, like he really, really, REALLY. Likes girls. Not like a 14 year old that wants a girlfriend ( I am not referring to him) he is a totally different story. But the thing is hes not a dog. I'm not sure if he's trying to get reviews or if he's sincere, but in the book he seems down-to-earth. Also he speaks French, was teased in school, a fishing Wiz, had a kind of poor childhood, poor meaning money wise,he is really into his music, started play the drums at 5. I also got answers to some of my JB questions: Is Justin Bieber a family man? YES. Was Justin Bieber's Dad around? Yes.

The P.O.V was 1st person, he was speaking. The P.O.O was fact and opinion. The genre is non-fiction, the sub-genre was Autobiography/ Memoir. The text features were pictures, captions, footnotes, bold words.

I would rate this book 7/10 , although it was funny, and it had cool pictures, the book was unorganized and had bad vocabulary. I would recommend this book to girls ages 12-17 who like Justin Bieber & Disorganized books :)

Sincerely,
Shianne Salazar
